đź“ŤWe're looking for Android engineers with a proven track record for building slick UIs that people love. Whatnot is growing very rapidly, so you must be able to cope with the pressure that comes with a high-growth environment and be open to wearing multiple hats. đź“ŤBuild intuitive user interfaces from the ground up. đź“ŤCreate modifiable, maintainable, and well-tested code. đź“ŤInvestigate and solve issues with bugs and data inconsistencies. đź“ŤImprove the availability and performance of current systems. đź“ŤIntegrating live video streaming with the app. đź“ŤWork with the engineering team to define implementation strategy, define overall requirements, and redefine a product, if needed.

We’ve found that low ego, a growth mindset, and leaning into action and high impact goes a long way here. 📍As our next Android engineer, you should have 5+ years of full-time software engineering experience in high growth startups, plus: 📍Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent work experience. 📍3+ years of experience writing Android apps. 📍Expert in Kotlin and exposure to Jetpack Compose. 📍You are known for ship lightning fast, making good trade-off decisions. 📍Excellent communication/writing skills. 📍Self-starter. You will be able to hit the ground running with little direction.
