International Monetary Fund

The International Monetary Fund is an international organization with 189 member countries.

It aims to increase financial stability, monetary cooperating and facilitate international trade while providing economic growth.

It was formed in 1944, primarily by the ideas of John Maynadr Keynes and Harry Dexter White. In 2016, the fund controlled $667 billion.

The current managing director is Bulgarian Economist Kristalina Georgieva.

On June 2019, the International Monetary Fund director discussed the possibility of developing its own cryptocurrency in the future.

However, no concrete plans have been made for doing so.
