In Brief

An Italian eatery in New Jersey is now accepting Litecoin (LTC) and Bitcoin (BTC) as payment in its Pompton Lakes sit-down restaurant.

Ground-Level Adoption

Monica’s Restaurant in Pompton Lakes, New Jersey is revamping its business model — now dishing out its handmade Italian fare for Litecoin (LTC) and Bitcoin (BTC). According to NorthJersey.com, Monica’s owner, Atila Ajdinovski, now joins 20 other business owners in New Jersey who accept at least one kind of cryptocurrency for their goods or services. It is becoming increasingly difficult for cryptocurrency and blockchain naysayers to claim that people who own cryptocurrency have no practical use for it other than trading it as a speculative asset. Having proper channels set up to accept cryptocurrency transactions and actually using cryptocurrency in our daily lives makes up the foundation of a decentralized future based on the digital asset economy.

Litecoin Is Heating Up

Litecoin has had a fair amount of good news coming from its camp in the past few months, despite hovering just above its 2018 low price. The Bitcoin spinoff has been around almost nearly as long as Bitcoin, recently celebrating its seven-year anniversary. Litecoin, which uses the LTC coin as its currency, is most known for its low transaction fees, and just announced last week that the upcoming Litecoin Core update would lower transaction fees to only half a cent. The Bitcoin clone, however, has fallen hard (along with most of the altcoin market), seeing highs of $400 followed by a ten-month correction and current price of $52. Have you ever used cryptocurrency to purchase a drink or a meal? Do you believe the small business sector will be a major component in adopting cryptocurrency into our everyday lives?
