Blockchain intelligence firm Arkham claims to have discovered the crypto wallet associated with former United States president Donald Trump. The findings suggest that Trump possesses crypto holdings approximately five times larger than was initially reported earlier this week.

According to Arkham’s Aug. 17 tweet, Trump’s wallet holds a balance of $2,821,575. Trump’s most recently disclosed financial statements this week indicate a crypto balance of $2,806,341.

Despite a slight variance of $15,234, which is considered a minor fluctuation given the size of the wallet’s balance, Arkham is confident it has identified the correct wallet. “This is almost identical to the present balance of the largest royalty fee wallet,” Arkham’s tweet states.

Arkham’s assertions indicate the potential that Trump’s portfolio could be five times larger than the initial report earlier this week that revealed that Trump’s crypto wallet holds a value in the $250,000 to $500,000 range.

The wallet displays that Ethereum constitutes his most significant holding, with a value of $2.79 million. Additionally, it indicates exposure to Wrapped Ethereum, valued at $28,900.

The image contains two smaller holdings, $2,120 in Polygon and a nominal $12 in the USDC stablecoin.

Trump’s Views on Crypto In Recent Times

The ongoing disclosures of Trump’s crypto investments may catch some off guard, given his comments against the asset class in previous years.

“I am not a fan of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, which are not money, and whose value is highly volatile and based on thin air,” he tweeted in 2019.

Trump even suggested that cryptocurrencies open the gate to the potential for illegal activity.

“Unregulated crypto assets can facilitate unlawful behavior, including drug trade and other illegal activity,” Trump added. Later that year, he called Bitcoin “very dangerous.”

The amount that Trump holds and earns from cryptocurrency and his NFT projects has been a point of discussion for quite some time. Just a few months back, a more extensive estimated range was provided for the potential earnings of his NFT project.

On April 14, a filing shows that he earned between $100,000 to $1 million for his NFT projects.
