Pi Coin is finally hitting exchanges. So how do you sell Pi Coin? For years, Pi Network users have been mining Pi on their phones, watching the numbers grow but unable to cash out. But now, with major exchanges like OKX and Bitget listing Pi Coin for spot trading, it’s finally happening!

This guide breaks down everything you need to know, from transferring your Pi to an exchange to executing your first trade and withdrawing your funds safely.

KEY TAKEAWAYS
➤ Selling Pi involves transferring it from your Pi Network Wallet (Pi browser) to an exchange like OKX or Bitget.
➤ To get the best price, compare exchange prices, use limit orders, and avoid panic selling during initial volatility.
➤ Withdrawals for Pi Coin on OKX open on Feb. 21, 2025, allowing users to transfer funds or cash out profits.

How to sell Pi Coin?

Here are the basic steps you need to follow if you want to sell your Pi Coin stash.

  1. Open the Pi Browser and go to your Pi Network Wallet.
  2. Unlock your wallet using your passphrase.
  3. Click “Pay/Request” to start the transfer.
  4. Copy your Pi deposit address from OKX or another exchange (where deposits are allowed).
  5. Paste the address into your Pi Wallet (no memo required).
  6. Confirm the transaction and wait for the coin deposit to reflect in your exchange account.
  7. Go to the trading section and find the PI/USDT trading pair (whenever trading opens).
  8. Place a sell order (market or limit order).
  9. Convert USDT to fiat or another cryptocurrency if needed.
  10. Withdraw your funds to your bank or external wallet.

Now let us look at the steps in detail:

1. Transfer Pi Coin to an exchange

First, you need to move your Pi from your Pi Network Wallet to an exchange like OKX. Open the Pi Browser, go to your Pi Network Wallet, and unlock it using your passphrase. From there, select “Pay / Request” and choose “Manually Add Wallet Address.”

Now, switch over to OKX. Open the exchange, go to the deposit section, and search for Pi Coin. Copy your unique Pi deposit address (it starts with “M”) and paste it into your Pi Wallet.

Note: Pi transfers aren’t instant. While deposits usually take 10-30 minutes, heavy network traffic could delay it further. You may need to be patient.

2. Sell Pi coin and withdraw profits

Selling Pi Coin isn’t instant — you need to wait until trading officially starts.

  • OKX and Bitget begin spot trading on Feb. 20, 2025.
  • The call auction starts at 7:00 AM UTC and lasts for one hour.
  • Real trading begins at 8:00 AM UTC, after the call auction is completed.

Once the market opens, go to the Spot Trading section on OKX and search for PI/USDT. This is where you’ll execute your sell order.

At this stage, you have two options: Market Order or Limit Order. A market order sells your Pi coins instantly, and at the current market price, while a limit order lets you set your own price and wait for a buyer.

If you want to sell quickly, go with a market order. If you want a better price and are willing to wait, set a limit order.

3. Withdraw your profits

Now that you’ve sold your Pi Coin, it’s time to cash out your profits.

If your Pi sale has been converted into USDT, BTC, ETH, or any other cryptocurrency, you can withdraw it immediately from your exchange account. Most exchanges, including OKX and Bitget, allow you to:

  • Transfer USDT, BTC, or ETH to an external wallet (like Trust Wallet, MetaMask, or a hardware wallet).
  • Sell USDT via P2P trading to receive fiat currency (USD, EUR, INR, etc.).
  • Convert USDT to fiat and withdraw it directly to your bank account.

If you are planning to buy Pi Coin on OKX and are looking to transfer it elsewhere, you will need to wait. OKX withdrawals for Pi Coin open on Feb. 21, 2025, at 8:00 AM UTC. Until then, you can sell or hold it within the exchange, but you won’t be able to move it out.

Different selling perspectives are floating:

Where and when to sell Pi Coin?

Not everyone can sell Pi Coin right away. If you’ve mined Pi for years and successfully migrated your tokens to the Mainnet, you can now transfer them to an exchange and sell them. But if your Pi is still in the Enclosed Mainnet, you cannot sell or transfer it yet — you’ll need to complete KYC and Mainnet migration first.

Did you know? The Enclosed Mainnet is a restricted phase of Pi Network where users can’t transfer Pi outside the ecosystem. It was created to ensure that only verified users with real Pi balances could eventually trade on external exchanges. If your Pi Coin is still in the Enclosed Mainnet, you cannot sell, withdraw, or transfer it to an exchange. You’ll first need to complete KYC and Mainnet migration.

Several exchanges are listing Pi Coin, but only a few are actually supporting real Pi Coin trading. Here’s where you can sell Pi:

  • OKX – Spot trading starts Feb, 20, 2025, at 8:00 AM UTC after a call auction. Withdrawals open Feb. 21, 2025.
  • Bitget – Also listing Pi for trading on Feb. 20, 2025.

Should you sell your Pi coin or hold?

Now that Pi Coin is finally getting its listing due, should you sell immediately, or is it better to wait? There’s no right or wrong answer, but it depends on your goals and risk appetite. If you’re looking for quick liquidity, selling early might be the best option. Holding could be the smarter move if you believe Pi’s price will rise after listing. Regardless of your decision, it is important to do your own research (DYOR) before proceeding.

Since a lot of Pi has been locked in the Enclosed Mainnet, there could be low sell pressure at first, leading to price increases. However, all of that is speculative.

How to get the best value when selling your Pi coin stash

To sell Pi Coin at the best price, don’t rush! Watch the charts, analyze market trends, and compare prices across exchanges like OKX and Bitget. Always choose limit orders instead of market orders to avoid bad pricing and sell in batches rather than all at once to minimize slippage. High trading volume means better liquidity, so timing your sale when demand is high can help you maximize profits.
