Everscale, a network that has made a name for itself as one of Asia’s premier blockchain networks thanks to its dynamic sharding technology, has launched an online hackathon open to everyone.
Developers can still join Everscale’s Elysium hackathon, which will run until the end of November, where they will compete for a prize pool of $43,000.
On November 1, the Everscale network, the recent recipient of AIBC’s network of the year prize, issued a call to all developers that wanted to earn their stripes by contributing to the most technologically sophisticated blockchain network in existence. The occasion was the start of Everscale Elysium, the network’s first fully online hackathon.
The hackathon has seen Everscale, a network that has devoted itself to solving the scalability issues bogging down the DeFi industry, together with a group of DeFi developers task participants with coming up with creative and effective solutions in GameFi, web3 communications, and composable smart contracts. In addition to the main tracks, there are also a number of smaller tasks for independent developers.
The online hackathon kicked off at the beginning of November on the Gitcoin platform and will last until November 28. Even though it has already started, developers are still welcome to join and compete, and newcomers will be assisted by Everscale mentors who will fill them in on all the details.
Throughout the month, the organizers have held workshops and AMA sessions for participants, answered their questions, and drawn in more hackathon participants. And the participants, in turn, have had time to study the different tasks of the hackathon and formulate the best approaches to solving them. Make your mark, earn your prize
As we reach the home stretch of the event, participants will put the final touches on their work and present it in the hopes of etching their names in Everscale history and taking home a share of the prize pool. While the end is almost in sight, there is still time to join in on the action and prove you have what it takes to make your mark on Everscale.
There are three main tracks that each have their own $12,000 prize pool. First place for each will get $5,000, second $4,000 and $3,000 will go to third place. In addition to those, there are three smaller tasks for solo participants that have prizes of $3,000, $2,000, and $2,000, respectively.

For newcomers looking for a breakdown of how things work on the network, the Everscale site has thorough documentation with subsections that make all the network processes digestible for blockchain enthusiasts, developers, validators, and partners.
News from Everscale Elysium can be found first on the network’s Discord, which has also served as a communications hub for participants and a place where they can ask questions to mentors.
Newcomers that join the Discord will be able to meet with mentors to get them up to speed on the details of each track and what they need to do and form teams with other new participants.
By trying their hand at Everscale development and participating in the hackathon, participants have not only been given the chance to win large sums of money, but also learn asynchronous programming, gain experience on a next-generation blockchain with infinite scalability, and forge new connections with the talented development team that powers Everscale.
Elysium Jury
When Everscale Elysium wraps up and all work has been presented, the prizes will be given out according to the verdicts arrived at by the hackathon jury. The jury is comprised of four industry experts:
Ignat Shapkin — CEO and Co-Founder of Ylide with a wealth of experience in all aspects of the blockchain space, Alexander Hramtsov — CTO of Blockchain Family and a seasoned blockchain developer, Alexander Alekseev — Everscale Validator and a smart contract developer, and Ivan Kotelnikov — Developer Advocate for the Everscale DAO and a blockchain researcher.
Ignat Shapkin will preside over the hackathon track working on Ylide wallet-to-wallet communication. Ivan Kotelkin and Alexander Alekseev will be judging the participants in the GameFi track as well as the composable smart contracts track, where they will be joined by Alexander Hramtsov.
In addition to the Everscale network, the hackathon is being organized by Broxus, the developer of a decentralized Octus Bridge that links eight different blockchains, FlatQube DEX, EVER wallet, and many other tools based on Everscale; Qamon, an anonymous mail service based on Everscale; and Ylide, a DeFi protocol for building web3 communication apps.
Everscale Elysium follows the success of the IRL and online hackathon that network developers Broxus held in Belgrade, Serbia, this past summer. The Broxus hackathon, held from July 14–17, drew developers from all over the world to compete for a prize pool of $30,000.
