The xDay Conference held in Bucharest gathered around 2,000 enthusiasts, experts, and visionaries from the realms of blockchain, AI, and spatial computing. The event showcased an interaction between technology and the evolving digital landscape, focusing on MultiversX.
Top-notch speakers attended the conference, such as Daniel Rood from Google Cloud, Nikita Kharchenko of AWS, Julien Bouteloup, Fabrice Dautriat from Ledger, Sanja Kon of Circle, entrepreneur Anthony Pompliano, and Beniamin Mincu from MultiversX. Their diverse insights showed the synergy between emerging technologies and the digital economy.
Emerging Regulatory Frameworks
Amid the technical dialogues, the conversation with the Romanian Minister of Innovation, Ivan Bogdan, unveiled a larger picture. The discussion evolved around the upcoming European Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCA) regulation, highlighting the learning curve for countries like Romania in crafting a balanced crypto regulatory framework. As the Minister pointed out:
“We need something like MiCAR […] MiCAR brings the next level of regulation, and in my opinion something new must be understood, and we have to check its effect on the market. In my opinion, MiCAR could be a very good instrument to achieve this.”
As we delve deeper into the MultiversX ecosystem, Beniamin Mincu, the CEO and Founder, shared his vision for the future of MultiversX. Mincu emphasized looking beyond the present technical difficulties and envisioning how today’s innovations would shape the world in coming decades. He advocated for a holistic understanding of blockchain and AI, portraying blockchain as a “truth machine”. On the other hand, he sees AI as a “creation machine” that could potentially transform the digital media landscape.
Exploring New Dimensions with MultiversX
Mincu’s narrative also included spatial computing: illustrating a future enriched with computational artifacts augmenting our reality. He highlighted the essence of providing individuals the tools to choose their experiences across augmented, virtual, or extended realities. In his opinion MultiversX fits perfectly into this role:
“Indeed, what we want to do is be at the intersection of worlds and provide the tools that people decide themselves, what do they want.”

New features in the xPortal app by MultiversX were unveiled, including financial management tools, debit cards, and an in-app crypto purchase solution. Resonating with this vision and marking a significant stride toward making the digital world seamlessly accessible. The event also marked the announcement by Illinois-based firm Runtime Verification about PI Squared. PI Squared is a universal ZK Rollup rooted in the MultiversX blockchain, aiming to achieve higher scalability and security within the blockchain.
Speakers from Google Cloud, AWS, Ledger, Circle, and other leading entities shared the conference stage, each bringing a unique perspective. Discussions and insights shared during the event echoed anticipation for a future where the digital and physical realms harmoniously coexist.
The xDay Conference emerged as more than a mere congregation of tech aficionados. It offered a glimpse into the exciting possibilities awaiting on the horizon of blockchain technology and beyond.
