CO฿IE Saves the Day: ‘One Buy Wall for My Children’

Where were you on March 13, 2020? On March 12, 2020, the price of Bitcoin (BTC) dropped dramatically from 7,969 USD to 4,777 USD — striking the level of panic rarely ever seen in the cryptocurrency world. It isn’t even an exaggeration to say that those watching the charts at that moment seriously questioned whether or not the price of the first and foremost cryptocurrency was going to zero — as the BitMEX liquidation machine appeared to be broken to the point where Arthur had to pull the plug. Fortunately, one Bitcoin OG stepped up like the King of Gondor to stop the bleeding and single-handedly save Bitcoin with a rallying cry that inspired everyone to throw their weight behind his legendary buy wall.

Did You FOMO Into Bitcoin?

Be honest — did this morning’s green continuation on the BTC/USD chart cause you to wake up, check your TradingView app, and panic buy?

And did you feel like this, two hours later?

It’s okay… we’ve all been there.

Are We Sexist?

Two days ago, we jokingly jabbed at Insider‘s digital culture reporter Kat Tenbarge for making a sarcastic tweet about Akon’s self-titled cryptocurrency, Akoin. The conversation that followed on Twitter resulted in “ProPublica’s Texan at large” Jessica Huseman calling us (in a now-deleted tweet) a blog run by a bunch of dudes who don’t like when someone picks on our passion (or something like that); we had no choice but to put that conversation out of its misery. [Correction: Huseman did not delete the tweet, as evidenced here.]
