Killer Whales, a TV show inspired by Shark Tank, will allow Web3 firms to pitch their project to a panel of judges called Whales.

Shark Tank massively contributed to making entrepreneurship mainstream by grabbing the general audience’s interest. Will a similar idea for Web3 bring mass adoption to the industry?

Killer Whales Aims to Onboard a Billion Users to Web3

The crypto data aggregator CoinMarketCap has partnered with Web3 entertainment firm Hello Labs to launch “Killer Whales.” It will be a reality television show similar to Shark Tank that will provide a platform to pitch crypto and non-fungible token (NFT) projects.

Sander Gortjes, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HELLO Labs, said, “We want to open the door to the next billion users into Web3 by educating them on all things crypto.”

Similar to the sharks in the Shark Tank, the Web3 TV show will have Whales – prominent personalities in the industry. So far, Gortjes has confirmed that YouTuber @AltcoinDailyio, and founder of a crypto fund, @champmedici, will star on the show as Whales.

The Voting Process

On Tuesday, Hello Labs opened its portal to receive applications from projects. CoinMarketCap and Hello Labs representatives, along with other industry experts, will then filter out the applications.

Lastly, in June, the selected candidates will participate in the filming of Killer Whales in Los Angeles.

During the show, the candidates must impress Whales to gain their “Swim” votes to climb the leaderboard.

Along with whales, the community will also participate in the voting process by connecting their wallet to Hello.one.

Our aim is to provide a voice through our platform for the entire Web3 community when producing the show, so we have introduced a way for communities to vote for their favorite projects and NFTs and show their support.

After Killer Whales’ announcement, the HELLO token’s price has increased by around 13% in the past 24 hours.

However, it might be interesting to see if the U.S. regulators allow the show’s streaming. Since the beginning of this year, the regulators have launched a crackdown against crypto companies.
