Just.Cash, a payment processing system that enables the smooth transition of funds between ATMs and mobile apps has recently implemented support for Bitcoin (BTC).
The service provider aims to bridge the gap between the world of ATMs and mobile digital cash. Just.Cash allows its customers to send and receive money without having to use credit or debit cards.
On one hand, users can comfortably cash out funds they have on mobile apps or digital wallets. On the other hand, ATM operators have the opportunity to participate in the new digital economy by enabling card-less cash withdrawals from mobile payment platforms, which have become popular in recent years.
Just.Cash Adds Bitcoin Support
Just.Cash has taken a step further and implemented support for Bitcoin. Users can now purchase BTC through partnered ATMs. Upon completing the transaction, customers receive a receipt for their bitcoins, which can be transferred to their private wallet via a quick QR scan. According to Just.Cash, ATM operators can start accepting payments for cryptocurrencies with a simple software upgrade, without the need for additional apps or hardware updates. While at the moment the service provider offers only one-way transactions from fiat currency to cryptocurrencies, it also plans to add the ability to redeem digital assets for cash in the future. Furthermore, the company will be adding support for Ethereum (ETH) as well as additional digital assets pending the interest of its users. Will the Solution Gain Popularity?
Considering that the service provider collaborates with independent ATM operators and financial institutions alike, having the option to buy cryptocurrencies via ATMs would contribute significantly to at least raising awareness about digital assets. While it is tough to define a direct competitor to Just.Cash, the company will eventually need to compete for public awareness. On one side there are other popular payment platforms that offer support for digital assets, like Square’s Cash App and the UK-based Revolut. On the flip-side, apps that enable crypto purchases at local stores or cryptocurrency ATMs will be vying for the same target market as Just.Cash.
