Intel Corporation (Intel) is an American technology company headquartered in the Silicon Valley. It is the second largest semiconductor chip manufacturer in the world, only trailing Samsung.

Based on total revenue, Intel is ranked 46th in the United States.

The company was founded on July 18, 1968, by Robert Noyce and Gordon Moore.

On November 2008, the U.S. patent trademark office awarded Intel a patent for a processor which is able to conduct “energy-efficient high performance bitcoin mining”.
