Grayscale Investments has launched a nationwide cryptocurrency-focused ad campaign in the US intended to get more people into the crypto space.

On Friday, Grayscale’s founder Barry Silbert announced the launch of the campaign tweeting,

Are you ready? @Grayscale’s national ad campaign kicks off next week with a TV ad on CNBC, MSNBC, FOX, and FOX Business. We’re going to brrring crypto to the masses.

As of today, the campaign is live with Grayscale’s official account posting one of the ads:

The ad elicited a predictable wave criticism from crypto Twitter, with many voicing a bit of disappointment.

A primary complaint was that the advertisement does not mention Bitcoin specifically until the end. Another issue of contention was that it also features a voice-over that many found difficult to understand.

But the campaign also received reactions that were more positive and focused on the bigger picture. The founder of BlockWorks Group, Jason Yanowitz, simply took it as a precursor to a big week in Bitcoin:

The campaign comes on the heels of announcements that Grayscale has over $5.5 billion in assets under management and that the firm had even recently applied for its Ethereum trust to become an SEC reporting company.
