The move comes as a surprise following the recent news that Crypto.com had announced another sporting partnership just two weeks prior. The company is described as “The world’s fastest growing crypto app” on the companies website.
Additionally, Crypto.com previously announced a partnership with a major Formula One Racing team. The partnership will see newly formed Formula One team Aston Martin partnering with their first cryptocurrency company in the form of Crypto.com.

Aston Martin Racing and Crypto.com’s partnership was described as “Two dynamic brands, both with a passion for speed, technology, and future thinking.”
The partnership with Aston Martin will also feature branding on the Formula One car during the season.
The latest partnership with the Montreal Canadiens now means the cryptocurrency project has two sporting deals in 2021. The project has grown tremendously over the past several months. The marketing plan is to get more people to use the Crypto.com mobile app.
The move into the NHL for a cryptocurrency company makes it the first of its kind. The partnership did not share details relating to fees. The move continues to show that cryptocurrency projects are moving into sports at a rapid rate.
