Canada

Canada allows the use of cryptocurrencies. However, they are not considered legal tender. The gains accruing from cryptocurrency trading are subject to taxation, as is specified by the Income Tax Act. All goods that have been purchased through the use of cryptocurrencies must be included in the final income for taxation purposes. The Canada Revenue Agency characterizes cryptocurrencies as commodities. Additionally, several tokens are characterized as securities.
