Sechet Quits Bitcoin Cash Over Differences of Opinion

On March 25, 2019, Sechet published a blog post informing the world about his decision to quit working on Bitcoin Unlimited. Sechet blamed the decision on Bitcoin SV (BSV) supporters who were members of the Bitcoin Unlimited community but also openly hostile to Bitcoin Cash. This was affecting the client’s future development as an increasing number of absurd proposals were being voted for and eventually accepted into the codebase. Sechet blamed Bitcoin Unlimited’s leaders for being complacent and having a rude and hostile attitude towards developers. Antony Zegers, another developer, also left Bitcoin Unlimited not too long ago. In his post, Sechet said that he is among some of the most knowledgeable developers and was instrumental in the early stages of Bitcoin Unlimited’s development. His departure is believed to have played a key role in Sechet’s decision to exit as well. bitcoin sv problems

Bitcoin Cash Was Expected to Scale to Levels of Visa and Mastercard

Sechet began working on Bitcoin Cash after realizing the advantages of decentralized currencies. While speaking at the CoinGeek conference in June 2018, he evangelized the altcoin and shared his belief that it would scale to the levels of Visa and Mastercard sometime in the future. Sechet also spearheaded numerous developments and contributed to the open source industry. His exit from Bitcoin Unlimited will likely affect the future development of the project. In his post on Medium, Sechet quoted a French proverb which loosely translates to: “we only realize our true friends in times of adversity.” He said that his last few days at Bitcoin Unlimited have helped him find his true friends. Sechet will continue working on Bitcoin ABC. He said that he hopes the cryptocurrency will eventually be more widely adopted and, perhaps, even considered to be a model example of sound money. Do you think other Bitcoin Unlimited developers will also follow suit? Let us know in the comments below.
