Antonio Estevez
Software developer with nearly 40 years of professional experience, mastering multiple programming languages and platforms, ranging from application development in languages like COBOL and FORTRAN in legacy mainframe environments to modern microservices architectures based on languages like Go or Rust. He was responsible for IT at the University of Laguna, having led its transformation and computerization processes in the 1990s. In 2000, he joined Open Canarias as Director of Research and Development, turning the company into a national and international benchmark in Model-Driven Engineering, highlighting his contributions to various standards, including an ISO standard, as well as multiple scientific publications and participation in two books on Software Engineering. Since 2017, he has initiated a new line of work in the company in the field of distributed ledger technologies in general, and blockchain in particular, applying his Software Engineering team's capabilities to facilitate the incorporation of these technologies into different business architectures. Currently, his work is focused on achieving greater scalability and energy efficiency in these technologies, also facilitating their incorporation into areas such as connected devices and industrial IoT.
