XRPL Commons and Boundless have unveiled a new integration that brings zero-knowledge (ZK) proof technology to the XRP Ledger (XRPL).

Announced on April 14, 2026, at XRPL Zone Paris, the initiative targets institutional users who need to execute confidential transactions without sacrificing auditability or regulatory compliance

What the ZK Proof Integration Enables on XRP Ledger

The integration allows institutions to execute stablecoin payments, manage treasury positions, and access Decentralized Finance (DeFi) protocols without exposing transaction details on-chain. Supported stablecoins include Ripple USD (RLUSD), USDC (USDC), and Tether (USDT).

“This is the missing piece for enterprise adoption of XRPL. Institutions moving capital on-chain need the same privacy and compliance guarantees they have on traditional financial rails. Boundless makes that possible, giving institutions the guardrails they need to participate in DeFi markets,” the announcement read.

Transaction amounts, counterparties, and timing remain hidden from public view. However, the system preserves full auditability and regulatory compliance.

Over-the-counter positions, cross-entity transfers, and yield deployments can also proceed without broadcasting strategy or counterparty information. This addresses one of the primary barriers preventing institutions from participating in DeFi on public blockchains.

“Boundless brings scalable confidential compute directly to the XRPL ecosystem. From stablecoin payments to DeFi flows, Institutions can now settle on XRPL with ZK proofs and cryptographic attestations for compliance and privacy-preserving logic, such as sanction screening to KYC/KYT/KYB. No trust assumptions, no data exposure, and full control over what gets disclosed and to whom,” Emiliano Bonassi, VP of Engineering, Boundless, noted.

The integration is currently available to developers on XRPL’s testnet environment. Furthermore, it was also used during XRPL Commons’ latest hackathon. Mainnet availability has not yet been confirmed.
