“The UAE’s air defenses are currently dealing with missile attacks and incoming drones originating from Iran, and the Ministry of Defense confirms that the sounds heard in scattered areas of the country are the result of the air defense systems intercepting ballistic missiles, as well as fighter jets intercepting drones and loitering munitions,” the UAE Ministry of Defense posted on X.

Dubai Police shut down key intersections near Cargo Village and Marrakech Street. Authorities are diverting traffic away from the airport. Drivers are advised to use alternate routes immediately.

Emirates Airlines suspended all flights to and from Dubai. The carrier told passengers to stay away from the airport. It will share updates as the situation develops.

The strikes deepen an already bruising stretch for Dubai’s global image as a business and crypto hub. For instance, TOKEN2049 Dubai had already pushed its event to April 2027 before today’s escalation. Organizers cited safety concerns, disrupted travel, and logistical uncertainty as reasons for the move.

No casualty figures have been reported publicly. The situation remains active and developing.
