TOKEN2049, one of the world’s largest cryptocurrency conferences, has postponed its 2026 Dubai event to April 2027 due to the ongoing regional risk linked to the US–Israel–Iran war.

Organizers said the decision was made because of “ongoing uncertainty in the region and its impact on safety, international travel and logistics.”

The conference had been scheduled to bring thousands of investors, founders, and developers to Dubai later this year.

The organizers stressed the move was about maintaining the scale and global participation the event is known for.

Dubai has seen limited but visible disruption since the conflict escalated. Iranian drones and missiles targeting Gulf states have triggered air defense interceptions, with debris incidents reported near parts of the city.

Flights have also faced temporary disruptions as regional airspace tensions increased.

The event will now return to the city on 21–22 April 2027, while the next gathering of the crypto industry will take place in Singapore in October 2026.

While infrastructure damage is limited, the Iran war seems to be causing a massive reputational crisis for the regional fintech and tax haven.
