The news is effectively the first confirmation of a public entity issuing an operational smart contract on a blockchain network. It seems that Tezos has become something of the blockchain network of choice in France which makes sense given that the project is based in Paris. Tezos’s own hardfork, Dune, has interestingly enough also made serious inroads with investments from major players and entities in France as well. As BeInCrypto previously reported, Dune has received investments from a French billionaire and various start-up leaders. As of now, the two public blockchains seem to be competing over who can attract the greatest market share in France. For now, the jury is out on which will prove to be more successful despite Tezos being many times larger for the time being. Tezos currently boasts some 40 research engineers with Nomadic Labs being the project’s main research center of operations. The French Armies and the SIRPA announced that since September 2019, the @Gendarmerie #cybercrime division (#C3N) has been validating judicial expenses incurred during investigations and recording them on the #Tezos #blockchain.
