Over the next 3 months, Startup Weekend Global 2022 Web3 Edition will bring together 1,000+ participants across 110+ different countries to hack global challenges around the themes of Web3, DeFi, Gaming, Metaverse, and NFT.
Startup Weekend Global has recently launched Startup Weekend Global 2022 Web3 Edition on 9 December in its own virtual metaverse. The hackathon is fueled by Polygon and other partners and sets out to nurture the next generation of builders, innovators, and hackers revolutionizing the Web3 space.
Drawing over 1,000+ participants from across 110+ different countries, this edition of Techstars Startup Weekend Global 2022 is inviting participants to hack around the themes of Web3, DeFi, Gaming, Metaverse, and NFT. Spanning over 3 months, giving participants time to ideate and develop their Web3 ideas, the top 12 teams will be selected to pitch live in front of a stellar panel of judges and stand to win attractive prizes.
Winning teams will receive up to USD$1,500 in cash and $36,000 worth of prizes. Interested participants can sign up for the event here.
In line with the Web3 themes, the hackathon will be hosted in its own Gather Town metaverse, immersing participants in the interactive virtual space. Participants can engage with each other online to form teams and network, validate their Web3 ideas, and connect with mentors.
From January to March 2023, participants will go through workshops, masterclasses and meteor sessions to connect with experienced mentors from around the world and learn the principles of the lean canvas, conducting customer validation and crafting their pitch. Top teams will have the opportunity to pitch to industry veterans to take their idea forward.
This year, Startup Weekend Global will be graced by speakers, judges, and mentors such as Andre Haddad (Founder and CEO of Turo), Dave Perrill (CEO of Compute North), and John Engates (Field CTO, Cloudflare).
Since the inception of the first Startup Weekend in 2007, Startup Weekend has inspired, supported, and empowered entrepreneurs.
