Christopher Smith is a software engineer, blockchain entrepreneur, and early Bitcoin developer with more than a decade of experience in cryptocurrency infrastructure, cryptography, and emerging technologies. He contributed to BitcoinJ, an early Java library for Bitcoin applications, and co-founded BitMesh, where he worked on Bitcoin micropayment channels before the Lightning Network emerged. His career also includes co-founding Lunyr, an Ethereum-based knowledge platform, and working on decentralized governance infrastructure through FactoryDAO. Smith has a background in mathematics, computer science, and artificial intelligence, including doctoral research at the University of California, Santa Cruz. His work increasingly focuses on the security implications of quantum computing for blockchain networks. He is currently the co-founder and CEO of Quantus, a blockchain project focused on post-quantum cryptography, and regularly contributes to public discussions about Bitcoin's long-term security.
