MoonPay, the Dogecoin Foundation, and its corporate arm House of Doge jointly contributed 1 million Dogecoin (DOGE) to the AKC Humane Fund on April 21, launching a campaign that channels the meme asset toward U.S. canine welfare programs.

The effort pairs crypto payment rails with a traditional American pet charity. Supporters can now contribute in DOGE directly through the AKC Humane Fund’s website, with payments processed by MoonPay Commerce.

Where 1 Million DOGE Lands

The AKC Humane Fund, a 501(c)(3) affiliate of the American Kennel Club, will steer the contribution toward three grant categories. Funds cover shelter assistance for pet owners fleeing domestic violence, rescue operations for stray dogs, and veterinary support for families facing financial hardship.

At Dogecoin’s current price near $0.10, the 1 million DOGE transfer carries a market value close to $100,000. That figure shifts with the token, which has spent most of April trading in a narrow band under $0.11.

House of Doge, the commercial entity behind Dogecoin’s branding, has pushed real-world use cases before. Dog-themed charity work sits at the center of its brand identity. The group merged with Brag House Holdings (NASDAQ: TBH) earlier this year.

Crypto Donation Pipes Get Tested

MoonPay Commerce supplies the checkout infrastructure. The setup lets the AKC accept DOGE without building custom wallet tooling, and donors can pay using crypto or fiat on the same page.

“We are proud to partner with the AKC and the Dogecoin Foundation to turn $DOGE into real world impact, powered by MoonPay Commerce,” — Keith A. Grossman, President of MoonPay, said in a statement.

Dogecoin’s community has funneled money into causes before. DOGE holders funded a Jamaican bobsled team’s 2014 Olympic appearance, backed water well projects in Kenya, and raised over $26,000 for Riley Children’s Hospital through an Indy 500 sponsorship. The AKC campaign extends that pattern into a more institutional partnership.

Whether the fundraiser draws sustained participation from retail DOGE holders will depend on how the charity reports grant outcomes in the coming months.
