Dreamverse will take place in November, at Terminal 5 in Manhattan – which has hosted big names in music like Run The Jewels.
NFT investment fund Metapurse has announced Dreamverse, a unique festival that focuses exclusively on “NFT-focused music, art, and technology” with what it is calling the world’s “first-ever” event of its kind. It will take place in November, in New York City. It is the first physical event that Metapurse has organized.
Top billing for the event includes the premiere unveiling of ‘EVERYDAYS: THE FIRST 5000 DAYS’, by prominent modern artist Beeple – in addition to a full art exhibition, and an electronic music concert.
In the announcement, Metapurse describes Dreamverse as a “two-fold” NFT-specialised experience, with one-half of the event taking place in the daytime and the second half at night. At day, the event will play host to the ‘Dreamverse Gallery’ – with the evening being taken over by the “evening Dreamverse Party”. Performing artists at the party include Alesso, RAC and PLS&TY.
The performance by Alesso additionally marks the debut of the EDM artist’s own first-time NFT collection through the OneOf platform.
What is Metapurse, and who is Metakovan?
Metapurse is self-described as a NFT investment fund. In August, Metapurse was reported to have been one of the main participants in a $16 million investment round for Althea AI’s NFT bot ‘Metaverse’ alongside the likes of Mark Cuban, Crypto.com Capital, and Galaxy Interactive.
The company was founded and is led by the pseudonymous Metakovan (AKA Vignesh Sundaresan) whose first public interaction with artist Beeple was back in March earlier this year. In March, Metakovan was revealed to have been the winner of a $69 million auction for a Beeple-produced NFT.
Beeple’s latest NFT work(s) is due to debut at Dreamverse in November.
The (im)possible Dreamverse
Back in June,2 Miami played host to ‘Bitcoin 2021’ in what was widely reported to have been “the biggest Bitcoin event in history” featuring thought leaders like Jack Dorsey. It also provided a platform for the burgeoning NFT space – drawing such names as prominent modern artists, Beeple, and more.
Dreamverse is perhaps the next big crypto event, and it takes place on November 4, 2021, in New York City at the Manhattan venue, ‘Terminal 5’. Terminal 5 is a multi-level event venue with a capacity of up to 3,000 attendees – however, this capacity was calculated before the pandemic and the maximum attendance will likely be much lower than this number.
Previously, Terminal 5 has hosted some of the biggest names in music, including Run The Jewels, Bring Me The Horizon, Travis Scott, Bonobo, and many many more.
This makes it a more-than-appropriate venue for the first-ever NFT-focused festival, and marks the transition of NFT artists from ahead-of-their-time experimentalists, into full-fledged rock stars!
