Job Summary
We are looking for an Accountant to join our Finance team. The position requires a self-starter who is motivated to implement best practices and create efficiencies. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Finance & Accounting and working closely with other cross-functional team members, to support existing and future projects within Aleo. Strong preference for New York candidates.
What you'll be doing:
In charge of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial period closing process working closely with bookkeepers Perform cryptocurrency transactions from multiple platforms and other payments Working closely with external auditors on periodic audits Develop, refine and implement accounting policies and internal control procedures in order to comply with GAAP disclosure requirements. Help to identify trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies related to finance operations Assist with other ad-hoc projects
What we look for in you:
Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance Fundamental knowledge of GAAP 2+ years of accounting or financial reporting experience from a SaaS company Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong verbal, writing and communication skills
Nice to haves:
CPA or other evidence of technical competence preferred Experience with current accounting and reporting tools, ideally QuickBooks Experience in the complexities of cryptocurrencies/blockchain and crypto ledgers including the relevant accounting standards and policies
