The Foundation’s token issuer has burned 1.1 million GRVT tokens as the platform prepares four launches culminating in Grvt 2.0 this November.
Grvt has announced the completion of its first GRVT token buyback and burn, alongside a roadmap for four upcoming product launches designed to expand how users earn yield and trade global markets.
The Foundation’s token issuer purchased 1.1 million GRVT tokens on the open market and permanently burned them, removing close to 1% of circulating supply at the time of purchase.
The transaction marks the first of five milestones toward Grvt 2.0, a redesigned self-custodial investing and trading experience scheduled for the end of November 2026.
GRVT Buyback Removes Close to 1% of Circulating Supply
The Foundation’s token issuer intends to conduct additional buybacks on a monthly basis, although the timing and size of each round remain entirely at its discretion.
Each round is executed through an independent execution partner. Purchased tokens are transferred to a designated burn address, permanently removing them from circulation.
Users can verify completed transactions through the Grvt buyback dashboard, which provides a record of tokens purchased and burned, their share of circulating supply, cumulative burns and transaction hashes.
“The GRVT token is an important part of the ecosystem we’re building,” said Hong, co-founder and CEO of Grvt. “We welcome the issuer’s buybacks as a sign of long-term commitment to the ecosystem and community. The program introduces a mechanism aimed at reducing circulating supply as Grvt prepares for its next phase of development.”
Token burns reduce the number of tokens in circulation but do not guarantee future price appreciation. The GRVT token confers no ownership, profit, or other economic rights.
Upcoming Developments for Grvt Users
Grvt’s roadmap includes four additional milestones between late October and the end of November 2026.
Grvt Earn: Target yields of up to 11%
Scheduled for the end of October, Grvt Earn will introduce yield opportunities backed by tokenized assets.
Potential returns are expected to come from underlying asset cash flows, which may include interest, premiums, and invoice-related income. Grvt plans to announce the asset-supplying partners at launch.
The target yield of up to 11% is not guaranteed. Actual returns will depend on the relevant assets and associated risks.
Stable Funding Perps: Zero-fee trading across RWA markets
Expected in November, Stable Funding Perps will introduce perpetual futures linked to stocks, commodities, foreign exchange and indices.
The contracts are planned to carry zero trading fees and charge funding once per day, rather than using the more frequent funding intervals common to perpetual futures.
Grvt aims to list more than 1,000 markets by the end of December 2026.
Yield as Margin: Earn while backing trades
Also scheduled for November, Yield as Margin will allow eligible Grvt Earn balances to serve as trading margin while continuing to accrue yield.
This is intended to reduce the need to move capital between separate earning and trading products, subject to applicable product terms and risk parameters.
Grvt 2.0: A single balance for earning and trading
The final milestone, expected at the end of November, will combine these capabilities in a redesigned app.
Users will be able to access yield opportunities and trade across markets through a single self-custodial balance. The launch will also introduce a new name, visual identity, and the platform’s 2027 roadmap.
Why Grvt is focusing on idle capital
The roadmap follows a survey of Grvt traders conducted earlier in 2026.
Six in ten respondents reported that at least a quarter of their capital on the platform was sitting idle, while many said they moved funds elsewhere to pursue yields of 8% or more.
The findings highlight a challenge for active traders: capital held ready for trading may not earn yield, while capital committed to earning products may not be immediately available for trading.
“Traders shouldn’t have to choose between putting their capital to work and keeping it ready to trade,” Hong said. “Grvt 2.0 is designed so the same balance can support both activities, without requiring users to move assets between separate products or give up self-custody.”
The platform currently supports approximately 200 cryptocurrency and real-world asset perpetual futures markets.
With the planned introduction of Earn, Stable Funding Perps and Yield as Margin, Grvt aims to broaden its offering beyond trading into a more integrated experience for managing and deploying capital.
Further details are available in the full announcement.
