According to XDA-developers, Google might be working on a new app that can detect car crashes and call for help. The app will supposedly be designed for Pixel users, and its goal is to help users remain safe and connected.
According to a recent report from the XDA-Developers, Google may have accidentally rolled out a ‘personal safety’ app, which will bring car crash detection feature to Pixel smartphones. The app emerged on Google Play with no other name than ‘Personal Safety.’ However, its description says that the app will allow users to remain connected to their emergency contacts, first responders, and alike, which is expected to increase overall safety. Google The app will likely rely on technology that can detect vehicle movement β€” as well as sudden stops β€” to determine whether or not a user has been in a car accident. The technology in question is likely to include motion sensors, sounds caught by the phone’s microphone, GPS location, and alike. If the app determines that there may be a problem, it will alarm the user and ask them if they require help. However, if the user doesn’t respond β€” the app will alert the local authorities. The user will also have the option to alert specific first responders without speaking, simply by choosing an option. The app will have three different options, including the Police, Fire, or Medical.

As mentioned, the app will also have access to a list of the user’s emergency contacts. That way, if the user ends up in a car crash, emergency contacts will be immediately notified. For now, it remains unclear whether the app will be connected to the Emergency Information application, which comes as a built-in feature of the new Android Q, which is currently in beta. However, according to what is known right now, it appears that Pixel device users will be able to download it as a standalone app. Meanwhile, as BeInCrypto previously reported, Google has recently achieved “quantum supremacy.” What do you think about Google’s new app? Do you plan to use it once it comes out? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
