Jim Cramer Names His ‘Sacred Stocks' and Why He Won't Sell Them

Jim Cramer says only two stocks have earned his rare sacred status, a label that exempts them from his own strict sell discipline.

He made that case in the same episode. He told viewers to abandon almost any other holding once its story changes. Nvidia and Apple, however, are the exceptions.

The Rule That Makes Exceptions Rare

Cramer’s core message is blunt. Investors should practice what he calls buy and homework, not buy and hold. A stock earns loyalty only while its original thesis holds. Once the facts change, he says, the position has to go.

That discipline is central to his public reputation. Traders have built entire strategies around wagering against his calls, an approach BeInCrypto has chronicled through the Inverse Cramer trade.

Against that backdrop, naming any stock untouchable is a rare move for Cramer.

Why Nvidia and Apple Get a Pass

Cramer reserves his highest blessing, own it, don’t trade it, for exactly two companies. He pointed to management quality as the deciding factor behind that trust.

He recalled Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang’s September 2022 appearance on the show. The stock had fallen for most of that year. Meanwhile, Huang described how artificial intelligence would depend on Nvidia’s chips. The stock bottomed within a month and hit new highs by the following spring.

He drew a similar parallel to Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff. Benioff insisted his business had not slowed during the Great Recession, even as the broader economy did. Both calls proved accurate, Cramer said. That track record, in his view, is what buys lasting trust.

Even so, Cramer stopped short of telling investors to switch off judgment entirely. The homework still applies to Nvidia’s compressed valuation compared with Apple’s record run, he said. Something could still change at either company.

A Reminder That Sacred Status Isn’t Guaranteed

In contrast, Cramer paired the praise with a warning. He cited Bed Bath & Beyond’s failed $11.8 billion buyback strategy. It shows, he said, that even trusted management can misread a business in decline.

For Cramer, stocks earn permanence rather than inherit it. Nvidia and Apple hold that status today. Nothing, however, guarantees they keep it tomorrow.
