From June 20 to 25, Brussels will be vibrating to the rhythm of blockchain and Web 3. Brussels Blockchain Week will be the must-attend event for professionals and those curious about this rapidly growing environment.

Web 3, Decentralized Finance (DeFi), and Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), … so many concepts that we see blooming in our daily lives without always understanding the issues.

The Brussels Blockchain Week will be the unmissable event of this summer to discover or deepen this sector that will profoundly impact our future. From June 20th to 25th, numerous conferences and workshops will be offered to both experts and novices in order to dive into this fascinating universe.

The Brussels Blockchain Week has a triple objective: to bring together professionals of the sector, to constitute a bridge between this ecosystem and the general public, and to promote exchanges between Web 3 entrepreneurs and European policymakers.

“DeFi is still unknown to the general public, but I see it as a revolutionary technology that will give access to investment and savings to people currently excluded from the financial system, especially in emerging economies. A fairer world is possible if we all have the same opportunities”, explains Christophe De Beukelaer, MP Les Engagés and co-founder of the Brussels Blockchain Conference.

Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) are another application of blockchain that is deeply renewing the economic model of the artistic sector. These allow artists to create unique digital pieces and sell their creations without intermediaries.

The potential of blockchain is therefore vast but still difficult to grasp. “The idea of organizing conferences came to us when we noticed the lack of European vision towards blockchain. We have the impression of reproducing the same pattern as with the Internet, where Europe lagged behind the American and Chinese leaders.

These events have the ambition to move the lines and make people aware of the huge potential of this new technology” concludes Raoul Ullens, partner at NOIA Capital and co-founder of the Brussels Blockchain Conference.

The will of the Brussels Blockchain Week is therefore summarized in one motto: “don’t miss the Web 3 train as it was the case for the Internet!” And you? Are you on board?
