Bitkub Group has partnered with Miss Universe Thailand to bring non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to the pageant.
The upcoming Miss Universe Thailand 2021 pageant will be the first to feature NFTs as part of the competition. The pageant has teamed up with Bitkub Capital Group Holdings, a Thai cryptocurrency exchange aimed at bridging the gap between “non-tech users” and the blockchain. The exchange provides multi-crypto wallets and is designed to be easy to operate.
Now, the Bitkub Group is bringing the blockchain to beauty pageants with NFTs and digital asset solutions.
Bitkub bringing the blockchain to beauty contests
According to a statement, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Miss Universe Thailand 2021 pageant “aims to re-establish its role of being a beacon of hope and trust for the masses, while also empowering belief through its concept of “Power of Passion”. The winner of the pageant will go on to represent her country in the Miss Universe 2021 in Eilat, Israel.
Bitkub Group will provide competitors access to its Bitkub Academy to educate themselves on cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. Additionally, Bitkub will add NFTs to the competition via collectible trading cards of each pageant participant. The winner will also receive digital assets as part of their prize payout.
In a statement, Founder and Group CEO of Bitkub Capital Group Holdings Co., LTD., Topp Jirayut Srupsrisopa, said the collaboration “coincides with our strong belief that passion can be a powerful driving force that changes one’s life, as well as the world, for the better, much like how Bitkub Group believes blockchain technology will revolutionize the world. The partnership with Miss Universe Thailand, a prestigious entertainment platform with an accumulation of more than tens of millions of viewers that supports the capabilities and roles of women in society, has proven to be a positive direction for the collaborative effort of creating change in the community, as well as being a voice of the people to ignite hope and inspiration.”
The Miss Universe Thailand crown will also be featured a limited-edition NFT in ‘Morning Moon Village,’ Bitkub Chain’s first play-to-earn game.
