Job Summary
The opportunity
šDevelop Krakenās policy positions in Canada to help influence policy outcomes. šEducate policymakers, institutions, government bodies, and regulators on the evolution of digital assets and Krakenās role. šDraft comment letters, consultation responses, and policy papers that advocate for responsible innovation in the digital assets space. šBuild and nurture long-term relationships with Canadian policymakers, regulators, and industry influencers at both the federal and provincial level. šMonitor, analyze, and engage on relevant legislative and regulatory initiatives impacting digital assets and financial services in Canada. šContribute to public discourse by participating in and representing Kraken at industry events, forums, and regulatory roundtables. šPartner closely with colleagues in regulatory, compliance, communications, and product teams to align policy strategy with business priorities. šProvide timely updates and clear analysis to relevant internal teams and senior leaders as policy and regulatory developments emerge, ensuring business stakeholders stay informed on potential impacts to Krakenās operations. šSupport the broader Americas team on cross-border issues, regional initiatives, and priority projects as needed. šAdditional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Skills you should HODL
š7+ years of experience in public policy, government affairs, or regulatory engagement. This experience is ideally within financial services with a mix of traditional finance and crypto currency. šExperience engaging with Canadian policymakers and regulators, with strong knowledge of Canadaās financial services and digital asset regulatory landscape. šPassion for the cryptocurrency world and a learning mindset about new crypto industry trends. šProficient in drafting policy documents and clearly articulating complex topics about digital assets to varied audiences.
