Job Summary
RESPONSIBILITIES
📍Strategic Leadership: 📍Collaborate with the executive team to align HR strategies with the university's mission, vision, and goals, contributing to the overall success and growth of the institution. 📍Serve as a leader and go-to partner in supporting the company's strategic plans, organizational charts, and expansion plans. 📍Metrics and Analytics: lead a data-driven team, implement HR metrics and analytics to track key performance indicators, provide actionable insights, and drive data-informed decision-making. 📍Report to the Executive team and the Board of directors on HR metrics and initiatives 📍People & Culture 📍Culture Cultivation: Foster an inclusive, innovative, and supportive culture reflective of our fast-paced environment, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. 📍Talent Acquisition and Retention: Develop innovative recruitment strategies to attract top talent across various disciplines and geographies. Implement retention strategies to nurture a high-performing and engaged workforce. 📍Performance Management: Design and implement performance management systems, including goal setting, feedback mechanisms, and career development initiatives to drive employee growth and productivity. 📍Learning and Development: Create and oversee comprehensive learning and development programs that support employee skill enhancement, career advancement, and knowledge-sharing initiatives. 📍Employee Relations: Act as a trusted advisor, handling complex employee relations matters with fairness, empathy, and confidentiality, while also implementing conflict resolution strategies when necessary.
REQUIREMENTS
📍Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business 📍Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred. 📍8+ years of progressive HR experience, with a focus on African HR policies and regulations. (knowledge of Rwanda & Mauritius laws preferred) 📍Experience in a leadership role, preferably as a VP or Director, managing HR functions in a multi-location organization. 📍Proven track record of designing and implementing HR programs, systems, and processes that drive organizational growth and efficiency. 📍Strong understanding of talent acquisition, performance management, learning and development, and employee relations practices. 📍Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills with the ability to work effectively across diverse teams and cultures. 📍Strategic thinker with analytical abilities, capable of translating data into actionable HR initiatives.
