Job Summary
Quantstamp is looking for a technical writer. As a technical writer, you will document prototypes and client systems. You will write new material about complex protocols and edit existing documentation. You may be asked to summarize complex technical specifications in layman terms and to produce public facing posts, guides, and diagrams. You will be expected to work collaboratively with developers, researchers, clients, and the community to produce outstanding technical documentation.
Your day-to-day work will involve owning technical documentation for various systems and processes. Alongside researchers and engineers at Quantstamp, you will describe systems based on specifications, requirements, and code. As some systems (e.g. those from clients) do not come complete with specifications and requirements, you may need to infer descriptions from code directly; it is not expected you modify those systems. However, you should be able to understand a function’s purpose and identify things like its parameters and return values. To justify particular decisions in protocol designs or to back up technical arguments, you may need to read academic papers, community forums, and research posts in order to collect evidence. Accuracy and clarity are the most important parts of your writing, and your documentation should meet standards as necessary. You may be asked to present your work internally.
