Job Summary
Technical Skills:
šDemonstrate expertise in US GAAP with a focus on ASC 606, ensuring accurate application to revenue recognition for prime brokerage services. šEstablished expertise in designing, implementing, and continuously improving daily and month-end prime brokerage accounting practices, ensuring full compliance with GAAP and industry best practices. šProven ability to account for complex matrix organizational structures and intercompany transactions. šComplexity and Impact of Work: šLead the accounting team through the intricacies of accounting related to digital asset prime brokerage activities and products, ensuring alignment with customer contracts as well as evolving regulatory and industry best practices. šDrive the development of scalable and automated financial processes and controls, leveraging your technical expertise to design and implement internal end-to-end trading system reporting, as well as integration of external software tools, as needed. šOversee month end accounting close responsibilities for brokerage related legal entities, including reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis, and FBO fiat and digital asset account reconciliations. šProvide support for internal and external audits related to specific areas of responsibility. šOrganizational Knowledge: šCultivate effective cross-functional communication with the brokerage, legal, operations, and technical accounting teams to ensure comprehensive documentation and understanding of transactions and their appropriate accounting treatment. šStay informed and socialize with the broader organization on industry pronouncements, emerging trends, and developments in accounting and reporting for digital assets, SEC regulations, and lending practices. šCommunication and Influence: šLeverage accounting expertise to provide guidance and requirements to product, brokerage operations, legal, and engineering teams in designing and implementing new products that meet financial reporting and compliance requirements. šAssist with internal and external audits to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
You may be a fit for this role if you have:
š8+ years of related accounting experience, with a mix of Big 4 public accounting experience, broker-dealer, trading firm and/or in a fast-paced startup/Fintech environment. šWorking knowledge of ASC 606 and US GAAP. šIn-depth understanding of agency and principal trading, derivatives, options, perpetual futures, and margin lending. šAn interest in accounting for digital assets and evolving markets. šExcellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to drive cross-functional projects. šA track record of driving strong financial performance and accountability.
