Job Summary

About the role:

As the Technical Artist Lead, you will work across art, design, and engineering to realize visual expressions within technical constraints while leading optimization and production pipelines.

The Lead Technical Artist serves as the bridge between the art and engineering teams. The role involves understanding creative intentions and ensuring visual quality is achieved within the constraints of game engines and software. Through tight collaboration with artists, designers, and programmers, you will realize the target visuals as an interactive experience by optimizing art assets for real-time rendering and establishing efficient pipelines and tools. Additionally, you will identify and resolve visual bugs or implementation issues to ensure the final product balances high-quality aesthetics with performance. As a core member of the development pipeline, you will take a proactive role in setting production standards and designing operational workflows.

Responsibilities:

📍The Lead Technical Artist serves as the bridge between the art and engineering teams. Requirements:

📍Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field (or equivalent knowledge/experience). 📍5+ years of game development experience using Unity 3D. 📍Expert-level knowledge of the Unity engine. 📍5+ years of leadership experience in Art or TA (or related) teams. 📍Deep understanding of game development workflows, including pipeline construction and optimization using DCC tools. Examples: Data conversion/automation, naming conventions, import setting optimization, verification flow development, etc. 📍Knowledge and experience in real-time 3D graphics optimization for target platforms (especially mobile). 📍Experience in shader and visual development using HLSL and ShaderGraph. 📍Proficiency in C# scripting within the Unity environment. 📍Ability to prioritize appropriately and perform duties stably under pressure. 📍Strong problem-solving skills and self-motivation (ability to define, prioritize, and drive tasks to completion). 📍Adaptability to move forward in environments with limited information or changing circumstances. 📍Ability to summarize and explain key points to both technical and non-technical stakeholders (including management) to reach consensus. 📍A hands-on approach and commitment to seeing tasks through to completion.

Nice-to-have: 📍Experience with development in Unity 6. 📍VFX design and mass production support (Particle/Timeline/Sequencer, etc.). 📍Tool/pipeline development (Editor extensions using C#/Python, automated importing/verification). 📍Knowledge of DCC tools (Maya, Blender, Substance, Photoshop, etc.) and practical experience with engine integration. 📍Experience with rendering pipelines and quality management (URP/HDRP, Unreal Rendering, post-processing, etc.). 📍Multi-platform development experience (Mobile/PC/Console). 📍Experience systematizing CI, builds, and asset verification. 📍Experience integrating Generative AI into production flows and quantifying improvements in productivity or quality. 📍Development of AI usage rules (rights/management/verification procedures) and ensuring output reproducibility.
