Job Summary
Key Responsibilities
šProject Planning and Coordination šDevelop the Construction Phase Plan in collaboration with subcontractors, detailing the construction schedule and milestones. šCoordinate logistics with Project Manager and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment šConduct pre-construction site assessments and manage site setup, including temporary facilities, temporary access roads, and laydown areas. šSite Management šLead and manage on-site subcontractor teams ensuring efficient workflows for timely completion. šSupervise all construction activities, including but not limited to: groundworks, trenching, structure installation, module mounting, electrical works, site reinstatement šHealth, Safety, and Environmental Compliance šCollaborate with Principal Designer during the development of the Risk Register during pre-construction, and ensure a smooth handover when construction starts. šAct as Principal Contractor and ensure all construction activities comply with UK health, safety, and environmental regulations, including CDM (Construction Design and Management) regulations. šImplement and enforce health and safety plans, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS). šPromote a culture of safety and conduct regular toolbox talks, site inspections, and incident reporting. šQuality Assurance and Reporting šEnsure that all work is executed to high standards and in line with šEmployer Requirements and industry best practices. šProvide regular updates to the project manager, including progress reports, cost tracking, and risk assessments. šResource Management šMonitor project progress, identify and address potential overruns. šOptimise resource allocation, including manpower, materials, and equipment, to maximise efficiency.
Requirements
šProven track record in managing large-scale solar farm projects. šExperienced in UK construction practices, regulations, and standards, including CDM compliance. šDesired but not compulsory: šRelevant certifications in construction management, (e.g. Black Managerās CSCS Card, Gold Supervisorās CSCS Card) šRelevant certifications in health and safety (e.g., SMSTS, NEBOSH, IOSH) šExperience developing solar farms on landfill sites
