Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

šŸ“Project Planning and Coordination šŸ“Develop the Construction Phase Plan in collaboration with subcontractors, detailing the construction schedule and milestones. šŸ“Coordinate logistics with Project Manager and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment šŸ“Conduct pre-construction site assessments and manage site setup, including temporary facilities, temporary access roads, and laydown areas. šŸ“Site Management šŸ“Lead and manage on-site subcontractor teams ensuring efficient workflows for timely completion. šŸ“Supervise all construction activities, including but not limited to: groundworks, trenching, structure installation, module mounting, electrical works, site reinstatement šŸ“Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance šŸ“Collaborate with Principal Designer during the development of the Risk Register during pre-construction, and ensure a smooth handover when construction starts. šŸ“Act as Principal Contractor and ensure all construction activities comply with UK health, safety, and environmental regulations, including CDM (Construction Design and Management) regulations. šŸ“Implement and enforce health and safety plans, risk assessments, and method statements (RAMS). šŸ“Promote a culture of safety and conduct regular toolbox talks, site inspections, and incident reporting. šŸ“Quality Assurance and Reporting šŸ“Ensure that all work is executed to high standards and in line with šŸ“Employer Requirements and industry best practices. šŸ“Provide regular updates to the project manager, including progress reports, cost tracking, and risk assessments. šŸ“Resource Management šŸ“Monitor project progress, identify and address potential overruns. šŸ“Optimise resource allocation, including manpower, materials, and equipment, to maximise efficiency.

Requirements

šŸ“Proven track record in managing large-scale solar farm projects. šŸ“Experienced in UK construction practices, regulations, and standards, including CDM compliance. šŸ“Desired but not compulsory: šŸ“Relevant certifications in construction management, (e.g. Black Managerā€™s CSCS Card, Gold Supervisorā€™s CSCS Card) šŸ“Relevant certifications in health and safety (e.g., SMSTS, NEBOSH, IOSH) šŸ“Experience developing solar farms on landfill sites
