Job Summary
Key Responsibilities:
šOversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll for all US and Canada employees, including salaries, hourly wages, commissions, bonuses, and overtime. šEnsure all payroll data is accurate, including employee hours, deductions, and benefits. šProcess payroll for multiple locations, international jurisdictions ensuring adherence to deadlines. šEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws, tax requirements, and labor regulations. šOversee filing of payroll tax reports (e.g., quarterly payroll taxes, W-2, W-3 forms, etc.). šHandle employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, and discrepancies. šMaintain accurate records of employee compensation, deductions, tax filings, and other payroll-related documentation. šPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll reports for internal stakeholders (HR, Finance, and Executive teams). šOversee the operation and maintenance of the payroll software/system (ADP Workforce Now), ensuring data integrity and troubleshooting issues as needed. šImplement system improvements to streamline payroll processes and enhance efficiency. šAdminister employee benefits (e.g., health insurance, retirement plans, etc.) within the payroll system and ensure proper deductions are made. šCoordinate with the HR department to ensure timely and accurate updates to employee benefits enrollment, terminations, and changes. šAssist in 401K Audit and Workers Compensation Audit šConduct regular payroll audits to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies. šReconcile payroll data with general ledger and other financial systems to ensure alignment. šIdentify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to optimize payroll efficiency. šStay current on changes to payroll regulations, tax laws, and industry trends.
Qualifications and skills
šBachelorās degree in accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field (preferred). š10+ years of payroll experience, including at least 4-5 years in a supervisory or management role. šExperience with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Ceridian, etc.) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel. šStrong knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements. šExcellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. šHigh level of attention to detail and accuracy.
