Job Summary
The Risk & Audit at Robinhood is assisting the company’s Audit Committee and Risk Committee of the Company Board with protecting assets, reputation, and sustainability of the organization. The Risk & Audit function provides independent, objective, reliable, valued and timely assurance regarding the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal controls that mitigate current and emerging risks and help strengthen the internal controls ecosystem.
What you’ll do day-to-day:
As part of the Risk & Audit leadership team, assist with leading strategic initiatives of the Risk & Audit program Contribute to the success of the Risk & Audit objectives as they align to the department strategy and company OKRs Develop and lead the Model risk and validation program to assess Company alignment with regulatory requirements. Work closely with other model development teams in the business operations, products, and engineering functions in monitoring risks and validating models in the areas that rely on models. Develop and maintain the plan for data analytics and model risk & validation programs. Lead and champion the use of data analytics, automation and continuous monitoring within the Robinhood Risk & Audit function. Design and oversee analytical procedures aimed at testing of controls for design and operating effectiveness, test data models, evaluate test results, draw conclusions on the adequacy and effectiveness of processes and controls based on performed procedures Collaborate with cross-functional teams and develop relationships across the Robinhood, particularly with Analytics/Data Science, Engineering, Risk, Operations and Finance teams About you:
Experience applying advanced econometric and statistical techniques to time series, panel data, discrete event modeling, financial asset valuation, and other quantitative problems in consumer finance. Excellent programming skills, including expert level familiarity with either Python or R programming languages. Advanced SQL skills - comfortable working with very large data sets including unstructured data. Experience with Looker in a developer capacity (writing LookML, creating Views and Explores, building dashboards, etc.) Experience with identification, validation and building pipelines on key data points that facilitate testing and controls. Significant experience applying analytical rigor to support technology decisions. People management experience, including mentorship and developing talent Bonus points:
A track record for running cross-functional initiatives, hitting goals, and succeeding in a complex and fast paced environment. Strong cross-functional relationships with product and engineering teams; experience at a high-growth startup is a plus. 10+ years of experience performing data analytics in banking or other financial services Series 7, 24, 4 certifications, CRISC, CISA or other related certification Experience in model risk management within a financial institution This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and participation in Robinhood’s equity plan.
Base pay is determined by market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Please note, some of our roles are open to additional levels which would impact the expected base pay.
