Job Summary

The Senior Fraud Investigator is responsible for reviewing fraud alerts, determining fraud, and helping identify emerging fraud trends. The role will also involve partnering with our Data Scientist and Engineering Teams to collaborate on the implementation of new fraud alerting models as well as holistic reviews of existing models.

Your day to day will involve:

Reviewing and investigating suspected fraudulent alerts that are proactive and reactive in nature Using data analysis techniques, critical thinking, and pattern detection to discover proactive ways to identify emerging fraud Documenting the rationale and determination for each alert and referring to other teams where necessary Calculating unauthorized activity and performing data analysis Analyzing alerts that are resolved as both confirmed fraud and confirmed no fraud to identify what triggered the alert Hosting monthly meetings with engineering partners to present data and improvements on existing fraud alerting models. Assisting junior investigators in making fraud determinations on alerts About you:

4+ years experience in fraud investigations including in-depth knowledge of various fraud activities such as Account Takeovers, Identity Theft and Money Movement Fraud among others Proactively identify problems and come up with solutions (ability to think outside-the-box) Ability to operate in a fast paced environment Good written and verbal communication, analytical skills, and strong attention to detail Strong interpersonal skills, experience working with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, legal, compliance, vendor partners, and financial crimes Passionate about mentoring and working with junior fraud investigators and agents to help guide and explore career Bonus points:

CFE, CAMS, CFCS or similar SQL experience Experience with financial services Prior experience in Tech

This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and participation in Robinhood’s equity plan.

Base pay is determined by market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Please note, some of our roles are open to additional levels which would impact the expected base pay.
