Job Summary
As a Senior Backend Engineer at Public, you will become part of a 35-person development team located in Carlsbergbyen Copenhagen. In collaboration with the rest of the Copenhagen office, you will develop Public’s cutting-edge trading platform, enabling users to buy and trade stocks and options seamlessly. Public is looking for a candidate with an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial spirit; someone who is willing to learn quickly, take responsibility, and drive initiatives forward. Public operates in a unique and transformative market, which creates an exciting, innovative, and challenging technical environment. Some of your key responsibilities will include:
📍Design, develop, and maintain robust backend systems and APIs using Java Spring boot. 📍Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to implement new features and enhancements. 📍Optimize performance and scalability of our trading platform to ensure a seamless user experience. 📍Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to maintain code quality and reliability. 📍Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to continually
What We’re Looking For:
📍BA or MA in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another relevant field; experience in a similar role is most important. 📍Strong proficiency in Java Spring boot and hands-on experience with backend development. 📍Experience with Java or .NET is also relevant and can be considered. 📍Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and problem- solving. 📍Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced agile environment. 📍Experience with the financial markets or trading platforms is a plus, but not required. 📍Fluent in English.
