Job Summary
Responsibilities:
šPrepare quarterly and annual GAAP financial statements and associated notes šPrepare monthly financial reporting packages / material for the consumption of the CAO and CFO šWork with the business and regulatory teams to ensure transactions and new developments are appropriately recorded and presented in the financial statements šDocument and implement accounting policies in-line with the latest GAAP and SEC Reg S-X requirements for use by team members around the globe šSupport general automation and general ledger upgrade efforts taking into consideration multiple stakeholder needs šSupport external relationships with audit professionals, consultants, and tax advisors, inclusive of networking and building contingency plans for possible future transactions and related accounting permutations šSupport outsourcing financial activities to Gemini affiliates and any sub-outsourcing to other third party service providers, ensuring services are provided in accordance with the respective regulatory requirements and internal policies, processes and procedures and agreed service level agreements
Qualifications:
šAn undergraduate degree in accounting, economics, finance or related field š4+ years work experience in accounting šBig 4 accounting firm experience is a plus šCPA (or equivalent license) šExperience with SEC financial reporting šWillingness and commitment to learn and go deep; crypto experience is a plus but not required šExperience in a regulated industry preferably financial services will be advantageous. We highly value experience managing numerous competing deliverables šAn understanding of consolidation, fair value, and CECL accounting šProven track record of meeting deadlines and ownership of complex areas
