About the company
Sphere was built to provide everyone a seat at the table of modern money movement. We’re backed by the best to drive our singular mission.
Job Summary
About the role:
The infrastructure moving the world's money today was built for another era: slow rails, walls between markets, and compliance layered in over time creating friction. Sphere Labs is building what comes next: modern, compliance-native infrastructure for cross-border payments and settlement, designed from the ground up to work for the businesses and regulated institutions it actually runs through. We work in active partnership with banks, licensed entities, and the regulators and jurisdictions shaping how global money moves, because the infrastructure that earns institutional trust has to be built alongside it.
Backed by Coinbase, Kraken, The Chernin Group, Jump Trading, Hudson River Trading, and some of the world's largest sovereign affiliates, we're a fully remote, global team building at the moment stablecoins are crossing into mainstream finance and regulated institutions are ready for modern rails.
Responsibilities:
📍Own the product roadmap for Sphere's Brazil market initiatives, working directly with regulated banking partners to bring stablecoin-powered cross-border payment products from concept to launch. 📍Lead product discovery, scoping, and delivery for cross-border payment flows — from BRL collection and FX conversion through stablecoin settlement and USD payout. 📍Drive API integration strategy between Sphere's infrastructure and partner banking platforms, defining requirements and working closely with engineering to ship. 📍Work with engineering – setting priorities, writing specs, and unblocking execution day-to-day. 📍Serve as the primary product interface with stakeholders at local partners — building trust, navigating regulatory nuance, and aligning on product direction. 📍Work cross functionally with other product domain owners to ensure flows meet the needs of global customers, as well as compliance and regulatory requirements from US based entities. 📍Define and track product metrics using data to inform direction and decisioning. 📍Identify and scope new product opportunities within the Brazil market beyond the initial partnership — including new customer segments, payment corridors, and stablecoin use cases.
Requirements:
📍3–5 years of product management experience. Not product ownership, not project management — actual PM work: running discovery, writing specs, shipping product, and iterating based on what you learn. 📍Payments domain experience. You've worked on bank integrations, payment processors, FX, or settlement infrastructure. You understand how money moves and what breaks. 📍Experience at a regulated financial institution or fintech operating under financial regulation — a bank, a licensed payment processor, an FX broker, or equivalent. You've shipped product where compliance isn't optional. 📍You've taken at least one product from inception through launch. Doesn't need to be massive — but you understand the full arc from problem discovery through scoping, build, and go-live. 📍Fluent in English and Portuguese, with strong written communication in both. You'll be writing specs, partner-facing documents, and internal strategy in both languages — often in the same day. 📍Experience working directly with engineering teams. You've had a squad and you've been in the weeds with them on prioritization, tradeoffs, and technical decisions. 📍Developed platform and/or API products. We are an API-first company and our teams must be developer-centric in how we approach our product.
Strong Preferences: 📍Experience at a fintech or financial institution operating in Brazil, or at a US-based company with Brazilian market exposure. Knowledge of integrating with local payment rails (ex. PIX) and payment partners is an important part of the payment lifecycle. 📍A mix of company stages on your resume. Pure startup experience is fine as part of the story, but we're looking for someone who has also operated within a more structured environment — a company with established processes, cross-functional dependencies, and organizational scale. 📍Crypto or stablecoin experience. You've worked on digital asset products, custody, on/off ramp infrastructure, or blockchain-based payment rails. Specifically in context of a regulated blockchain-related product. 📍Comfortable interfacing with senior executives at partner companies. This role involves regular interaction with C-level and director-level stakeholders at regulated institutions. You need to hold your own in those rooms.
Nice-to-have: 📍Technical background — CS degree, engineering experience, or equivalent experience working with API products, evaluating technical architecture, and interfacing with highly technical stakeholders. 📍Spanish language proficiency. We work closely with partners across LATAM, with many of our customers being having Spanish as their primary language.
