Job Summary
Responsibilities:
šServe as the key liaison for the North American Power trading desks, ensuring accurate valuation, position tracking, and risk assessment. This includes in-depth profit and loss (PnL) analysis, risk forecasting, and performance attribution. šAct as the primary interface for traders, originators, and risk teams, supporting trade lifecycle management, including complex trade entries, new deal evaluations, and valuation model reviews. šDevelop deep expertise in the firm's proprietary platforms and third-party Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM) systems. Gain a comprehensive understanding of trade data, booking protocols, and control frameworks to ensure robust PnL and risk reporting. šCollaborate daily with cross-functional teams-such as Market Risk, Credit, Accounting, Scheduling, Treasury, and Financial Operations-to troubleshoot issues, validate new trade structures, and support the rollout of complex instruments and transactions. šProvide analytical and operational support for structured deals, advising on booking strategies to ensure accurate valuation and risk capture. Partner with Quantitative Research to validate option pricing models and risk metrics. šCoordinate with technology teams to maintain operational continuity and drive improvements in workflow efficiency, risk mitigation, and compliance with internal standards. šWork closely with Business Management to streamline the onboarding of new desks, traders, and products, ensuring readiness and alignment with business timelines. šEngage with global commodity teams to harmonize valuation practices and understand regional modeling nuances.
Qualifications/Requirements:
š3+ years of experience working in middle office functions supporting physical and financial Natural Gas or Power trading across šNorth America. For the Lead role, must have 7+ years of experience working in middle office functions supporting physical and financial Natural Gas or Power trading across North America. šFirm understanding of physical natural gas and/or power infrastructure and market dynamics. šFirm understanding of physical natural gas and electricity transaction types, including related risk and valuation results šStrong Excel skills and ability to work with databases, SQL, APIs, and prior python coding experience are all preferred. Ability to navigate and analyze P&L across large amounts of data inclusive of trade count, forward marks, and settlements. šFirm understanding of financial valuation concepts -MTM, realized vs unrealized P&L, discounting, etc. and the full trade lifecycle for physical and financial trading šPrior interaction with front office and senior management teams in an active trading environment a must.
