Job Summary
RESPONSIBILITIES:
šAssist the team in ensuring that Starlinkās operations in the Africa region, as well as any new countries in Africa, are compliant with local tax requirements, including income tax, withholding tax, excise tax, VAT, and e-invoicing requirements šAssist the team with technical tax analysis regarding the tax implications of existing and new markets across Africa šCollaborate and partner with cross-functional teams (operations, commercial, legal, customs, treasury, accounting, finance) and other stakeholders to build a strong network across these departments and with external resources to ensure compliance with local legislation šAssist the team in overseeing all tax payments for the Africa region, including monitoring payment dates, calculating correct payment amounts, and ensuring payments are properly recorded in the books šAssist with notices/audits received from various taxing authorities šAssist with preparation of tax provision in local financial statements šAssist with US tax team on US tax implications of Starlink operations in the Africa region šProvide support as needed on ad hoc projects
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
šBachelorās degree in finance, business, accounting, or tax š2+ years of combined tax experience in public accounting, law firm and/or a multinational company with operations in Africa šExperience dealing with Africa indirect and/or direct tax
