Key Responsibilities

📍Extend and maintain a scalable, heterogeneous infrastructure system over multiple data centers with Switches, Firewalls, HSMs, as well as physical servers, virtual devices, cloud 📍Extend and maintain existing and new blockchain nodes 📍Maintain storage backends 📍Improve and maintain Kubernetes clusters 📍Contribute to hybrid infrastructure projects 📍Ensure the secure operation of backends (advanced load and fail balancing with HAProxy, Apache, and Nginx, database server replication) 📍Proactively control and improve existing monitoring, logging, tracing and alerting infrastructure (Prometheus, Loki, Tempo, Grafana) 📍Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health 📍Drive integration of secure technologies and applications 📍Patch management; continually deploy new firmware and software 📍Maintain and create technical documentation of infrastructure as code/data 📍Technically up to date on latest technologies and cloud native environments

Requirements

📍Degree in computer science or at least 5 years of experience in systems engineering 📍Great interest in servers, automation, and IT security 📍Enthusiasm for Linux/Unix/Container technologies and/or open-source software in general 📍Knowledge of the existing open-source ecosystem (Linux, Unix, HAProxy, Nginx, Apache, Squid, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, Prometheus, Grafana, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes) 📍Proven experience in systems engineering and defensive security (DDoS protection, intrusion prevention) 📍Above average project management and organisation skills 📍High level of integrity and quality awareness 📍Cloud (Azure, GCP) experience a plus 📍Excellent knowledge of English; German is a plus 📍Knowledge in blockchain technologies and crypto assets is also a plus
