Job Summary
Product Managers at Robinhood are responsible for leading teams to develop products that improve the everyday lives of our customers. You’ll work with our data, design, engineering, finance, research, and operations teams to bring ideas to life that will help us democratize finance for all!
Robinhood continues to grow very rapidly, now with over 22.5M customers, and is building new products and features that will deliver more value to our customers and propel our next wave of growth. Just as we continue to grow and innovate, we also expect fraudsters to increasingly target Robinhood and try to find new ways to defraud our customers and the company. As a safety first organization, we are committed to preventing fraud for our existing products and have an obligation to detect and mitigate fraud for all the new products and features we introduce.
As a Product Manager for Fraud, you’ll set the product vision and strategy, prioritize initiatives, and be responsible for defining the features and capabilities that help us eliminate fraud. You will work closely with our engineering and data team and other product teams (growth, brokerage, payments, crypto, onboarding, etc.) to create a fraud map, build machine learning models and algorithms to detect fraud, introduce rules and controls to block fraud, devise experiences that add friction for high risk users and transactions, and integrate 3rd party fraud mitigation solutions. You will not only have the opportunity to work on fraud typologies that have existed for many years (e.g. identity fraud, ACH fraud, payment fraud), but you will also be responsible for determining how we best address new and emerging fraud trends in the market and on Robinhood. Your work will play a critical role in establishing Robinhood as an industry leader in fraud mitigation while enabling us to take intelligent risks.
Your day-to-day will involve
Establishing a product vision and shared set of priorities across the team and the company to deliver innovative products and features, while eliminating fraud on the platform Identifying the sources of fraud happening on Robinhood (1st and 3rd party fraud map) and how key activities such as new account sign-ups, ACH transfers, debit card transactions, etc. impact our fraud levels Projecting the types of fraud we should expect when introducing new product lines and features and determining the steps we need to take to monitor and mitigate fraud Collaborating with design, engineering and our operations team to ship high-impact features and experiments that improve the customer experience while protecting Robinhood against financial loss due to fraud Measuring fraud by feature, product, and type of fraud across the platform and escalating to stakeholders and on-call teams when necessary Some things we consider critical for this role
Bachelor’s or Master's Degree 5+ years product management experience, building and shipping high-quality products Prior experience in a fraud role Strong data analytical skills, including experience with big data and machine learning Familiarity using research, experimentation and product analytics to guide decision making Superior communication skills, including the ability to speak fluently about fraud across all functions and levels within the organization Ability to focus on a problem at hand while thoughtfully considering overarching company strategy Passion for financial products and improving people’s financial lives Motivation to be a self-starter Bonus points:
Computer Science major Experience working in fintech or financial services Prior experience as a manager
This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and participation in Robinhood’s equity plan.
Base pay is determined by market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Please note, some of our roles are open to additional levels which would impact the expected base pay.
