Job Summary
RESPONSIBILITIES:
šDevelop and maintain a massively parallel, high performance combustion simulation software šCollaborate with combustion analysts and computer scientists to develop advanced simulation tools that accelerate engine design šSeek out, evaluate, and implement state-of-the-art features on multi-core and GPU hardware that extend simulation capabilities and improve the performance, as motivated by an aggressive engine development program šSupport all aspects of software development as a member of a cross-functional team šMaintain highest standards of excellence, never settling for the status quo, with a focus on getting to Mars
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
šBachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or STEM discipline and 8+ years of professional experience in software development; OR 10+ years of professional experience in software development in lieu of a degree š5+ years of software development experience in C++
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
šDemonstrated experience in developing and implementing combustion numerical methods šExperience developing concurrent applications (e.g. threading, MPI, CUDA) šExperience working with a team on at least one large (>100,000 lines) software project šExperience with object-oriented software design and functional programing šBackground in scientific computing, high-performance computing, or mathematics šStrong skills with debuggers, performance optimization, and unit testing šFamiliar with Agile software development techniques, particularly test-driven development, and continuous integration šMasterās degree in computational physics or an engineering discipline
