Job Summary
Technical Skills:
šAssist in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities for Portuguese legal entity and other group entities šPerform day-to-day accounting activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and preparation of monthly and quarterly equity and payroll expense workpapers for the Companyās payroll and equity-related accounts šEnsure accuracy and completeness of financial data in accordance with Portuguese GAAP (SNC) and US GAAP šPrepare monthly intercompany reconciliations and settle outstanding balances in a timely manner šMaintain the integrity of balance sheet accounts through preparation and review of reconciliations, verifying account activity and balances for accuracy and reasonableness šAnalyze and process accounts payable in a timely manner. Investigate and resolve problems associated with processing of invoices šAssist the outsourced local accountants in ensuring the accuracy of the general ledger maintained under Portuguese GAAP (SNC). This includes reviewing the reconciliation between the US šGAAP and Portuguese GAAP prepared by the outsourced local accountants šSupport coordination of internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations as needed šStay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate potential impact šIdentify opportunities to streamline accounting processes and implement effective controls to mitigate financial risks
You may be a fit for this role if you have:
šBachelorās or Masterās degree in accounting, finance or business administration, or related field š4+ years of experience in financial management, reporting, accounting or audit, with a focus on multinational companies šStrong knowledge of Portuguese GAAP Proficiency in financial systems and software (e.g. Netsuite, SAP, Hyperion etc.) šExcellent analytical and problem solving skills šStrong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate extensively across all levels of organization šFluency in English and Portuguese (both written and spoken)
