Job Summary

What you'll do

šŸ“Provide clear and actionable counsel to the business on risk management, finance, corporate governance and reporting, data protection, anti-money laundering and other functional and operational units. šŸ“Provide practical advice on legal issues and risks in a risk-tolerant, but compliance-oriented environment, including the impact on the companyā€™s long-term strategy for business. šŸ“Provide innovative legal solutions for complex projects involving new technologies to support commercial objectives including the analysis and advice on new regulatory guidance in the fintech industry. šŸ“Draft, review, and negotiate a range of commercial contracts, such as but not limited to vendor contracts and investment agreement. šŸ“Serve as part of a multi-jurisdiction legal team. šŸ“Assist in guiding and driving licensing efforts and eliminating regulatory and operational blockers by collaborating with cross-functional teams internally and engaging with local regulators. šŸ“Attend case conferences and hearings with courts and government agencies. šŸ“Other responsibilities not listed here but reasonably assumed to be a function of the Junior Legal Counselā€™s position/role.

What we expect from you

šŸ“Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in general corporate law, contracts, labor laws and regulatory compliance (e.g. BSP, SEC, BIR, LGU, AMLC). šŸ“Familiarity with, and a working knowledge of, key government organizations such as BSP, SEC, BIR, and LGUs will be essential. šŸ“Excellent judgment, analytical rigor, clear communication, and business pragmatism. šŸ“A good team player, agile, and can adapt to a fast-paced, high-intensity environment. šŸ“Motivated, self-starter with a passion for payments and cryptocurrency and requires minimal supervision. šŸ“Fluency in English with outstanding writing and communication skills.
