Job Summary
Responsibilities
šProvide legal and regulatory support to the US business on matters that affect Blockchain.com with an eye towards how they impact the business globally. šMonitor, assess and advise the business on legal and regulatory issues that impact entity licensing and registration, product development and distribution. šSupport Blockchain.com in its various licensing and registration initiatives (including potential BitLicense applications). šPartner with Compliance in respect of regulatory licensing matters and liaise with local regulators where necessary. šEnsure that the US business is aligned with applicable laws and regulations in the region (and coordinate with colleagues in the UK, Europe and Latin America). šHandle and/or assist with regulatory inquiries and investigations (as requested). šWork effectively across business units and product-related functions to resolve complex business and risk issues. šEngage outside counsel relationships as necessary.
Requirements
šLLB/JD and admission in a US jurisdiction. š8 - 10+ years relevant regulatory experience; in-house FinTech experience a bonus. šProven high-performing legal experience in an in-house environment. šAbility to work well under pressure with diligence, organization, and minimal supervision, and provide practical, business-friendly advice to clients. šStrong analytical and strategic skills; ability to drive issues to a quick resolution that factors in many non-legal variables, such as brand-risk, communications, government relations, tax, insurance, finance and other business units. šHigh degree of professional ethics and integrity. šAbility to anticipate legal issues or risks and to build the processes and systems to prevent them from occurring.
